How to use it

Set up a general area analysis in four steps

You only need History mode and one geometry around the area you want to analyse. UAIS does the rest.

1

Switch to History mode

Press H or click the History pill at the top of the map. Select the date you want to analyse.

2

Draw one area

Use P (polygon) or Shift+click (radius) to place a geometry around your port or terminal.

3

Open Analysis

Click the Analyze pill that appears at the top, or right-click a geometry and choose Analyze this area.

4

Choose General area

Select General area as the area type and click Run. Results appear within seconds.

Traffic

A full traffic breakdown for any area

UAIS tracks every vessel that enters your area, distinguishing moving and moored traffic using speed over ground — so you see exactly who passed through, who arrived, and who stayed, whatever the area looks like.

  • Unique vessels seen over the selected period
  • Vessels that passed straight through (in & out)
  • Vessels that arrived and were still present at the end
  • Vessel type breakdown, with average speed, length and draught

Tips

Get the most out of general area analysis

Match your area of interest

Draw the polygon or radius tightly around the area you care about. A geometry that is too wide may pick up vessels on nearby waterways or unrelated traffic.

Compare time windows

Run the same analysis for different periods to understand how traffic and occupancy shift throughout the day or week.

Filter by vessel type or size

Use the filters to focus on specific vessel types, or set minimum length, beam or draught to isolate the traffic you care about.

Share or export

Share a direct link to this analysis with colleagues, or save the results as a PDF report for offline use.

Try it yourself

Open UAIS, start History mode and place a geometry around any area near you.
